The iRiver Story

iRiver announced at the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas that the iRiver Story will be sold in the United States, starting this month. The company also announced that there will be another version that will have WiFi capabilities coming out early in the second quarter of 2010. The less than one-half inch device features a 6-inch display screen, is equipped with an MP3 player, has a 2GB internal memory as well as an SD slot, USB 2.0 port and a battery that will be good over up to 9,000 turns of the pages.

The Story is iRiver's very first e-reader and it takes the innovative styling and design and pairs it with a QWERTY keyboard along with the music player. iRiver also stated that they are talking with major newspaper and publishers to offer users a wide selection of content on the device.

The Story also features an office file viewer, a voice recorder, personal organizer with a memo pad and a scheduler. There is a headphone jack as well as a comic viewer included. The Story is designed to be ideal for work, classroom work as well as for travel. Users can download e-books and magazine content from any site that offers it such as CyberRead.com, ebooks.com, RandomHouse.com and others.
